Competition Terms & Conditions
Introduction
Participating in the competition means agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. The competition is being run by ClimaTech Run 2022.
Eligibility to Participate in ClimaTech Run Competition
The ClimaTech competition is free and open to applicants over 18 who meet the eligibility criteria as stated on the website. Employees of the ClimaTech Run 2022 and partners are excluded from entering.
By submitting your interest to the competition, you confirm your willingness and eligibility and that you qualify to receive any prizes that may be awarded.
Note that there is a limit of one entry per applicant in the ICT for Climate Action Track and three entries per artist in the DigitalArt4Climate track.
The ClimaTech Prize
The grand winning prize will be up to US$ 100,000 for the startup track and non-financial awards, as stated on the homepage. For the Digital Artists Track, the complimentary award of US$ 5,000 will be offered to the best piece of art according to the public voting.
Using branded prizes by ClimaTech Run 2022 or its partners or sponsors does not imply affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.
The prize(s) of ClimaTech Run is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and not subject to providing cash alternatives.
ClimaTech Run reserves all rights to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.
ClimaTech Run 2022's decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
Shortlisted participants are expected to attend the entire pitching and awards ceremony and other sidelines events.
Competition Process
In the startups' track, the selection process will be done in 3 rounds of judging:
The first level of selection will be conducted by a technical committee of at least two different experts based on the application form. This round should nominate the top startups for the following round.
The second level of filtration will be conducted by a committee of three experts covering technology, business and sustainability. The committee may contact the startups for more detailed information if needed.
Based on the results of the two rounds, the finalists will be invited to the pitching event, where the third and final round of selection will be conducted by a high-level of international judges at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
As for the Digital Art Track, the submissions will be curated by a group of international creative industry experts. The top art pieces will be then open for public voting.
Winner Announcement
The winner (s) of the ICT for Climate Action track will be chosen by qualified, high-level judges and based on the process announced on the ClimaTech Run platform. The winner (s) shall be notified of their status and updates in the competition via their email address.
The winner (s) of the DigitalArt4Climate track will be chosen by public voting and based on the process announced on the ClimaTech Run Platform. The Winners shall be notified of their status and updates in the competition via their email address.
Attempts to reach out to the winner(s) are limited to two email communications.
If the winner does not respond or return the communication within 14 days of the second correspondence, they forfeit their right to the prize, and ClimaTech Run 2022 reserves all rights to select and notify the next runner-up.
Delivery of the Prize
The winner (s) shall allow 30 working days for prize delivery. The prize delivery is subject to receiving all the required documents. Otherwise, alternative collection or delivery arrangements will be made based on mutual agreement with the applicant.
Data Protection and Publicity
By submitting your interest and application to the ClimaTech Run platform, you agree that any personal information you provide will be used by ClimaTech Run 2022, the panel of judges, and partners to administer the competition and for other purposes specified in our Privacy Policy.
Any changes to the founding team, location, or the name of the startup after submitting the application or after being shortlisted must be communicated with the ClimaTech Run team to avoid disqualifying the applicant from the competition phases.
Any changes to the art piece information, art collaborators or contributors, artist name, third party license or the authenticity of the submitted art piece after submitting the application or after being shortlisted must be communicated with the ClimaTech Run team to avoid disqualifying the applicant from the competition phases.
All participants may request information on the winning participant by emailing info@climatechrun.com.
If requested by ClimaTech Run 2022, the winner agrees to release their first name and place of employment to any other competition participants.
Applicant(s) in case of being qualified to the ClimaTech prizes, consent their first name and country of residence will be announced on ClimaTech Run 2022's website and its partners' social media channels and websites.
Limitation of Liability
ClimaTech Run 2022 accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment from any applicant participating in the competition or being qualified for a prize.
General
ClimaTech Run 2022 reserves the right to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions at any time and without prior notice.
In the event(s) of any misinterpretation regarding the above rules, the conduct or results of the competition, or any other matter related to the ClimaTech competition, the decision of ClimaTech Run 2022 shall be final and not subject to be challenged.
While every care is taken to ensure that the competition runs successfully, ClimaTech Run 2022 shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, inconvenience, or disappointment suffered by any entrant resulting from the competition.
